Why I think you’re all going to love the Dark Veil Saga by the very first book:
– an antagonist who isn’t aware he’s the villain, and might not be,
– local plot, because teenager-saves-the-world is getting obnoxious,
– non-white and mentally ill protagonist,
– lots of original fantasy creatures,
– giant freaking swords, because some tropes ARE worth keeping,
– no glorifying of war/death,
– unusual and original magic system,
– mix of Steampunk and Viking culture,
– near equal antagonist/protagonist point-of-view,
– and faeries are actually cool.
I’m sure I’ll think of more as time goes on, but that’s just for starters. This book was basically made to break what annoyed me about the entire fantasy genre. But you’ll hear more about it if you follow me on Tumblr or give us a like on Facebook. The first book, Dark Soldier, is planned for release in early 2016.
Now that I have some more followers, I think this will be good to see.

Not even shy about this anymore.
Yes, some parts of the book are written from the antagonist’s perspective. But are you sure this is an antagonist?
Dark Soldier arrives early 2016.
Found Sapphire from the Dark Veil saga as a child. The book comes out early 2016.
I found this again. Still true.
The only issue with that is that I might need to get permissions to do so, him being on TV and such. For instance, I really think that Mark Henry from WWE would be perfect as the character reference for Rük.
He looks near exactly like I imagine Rük when I write him. But I won’t use him as a character reference for the artwork because he’s on WWE and easily recognized. And Dark Soldier is going to be my very first published book, so the last thing I want is to get sued right off the bat.
But if I got the permissions, dang, I would love to have either person as Rük! The description only describes his build as being massive, and both people are.
As was promised, we now have all the swords for the entire Dark Veil saga in one place. To keep detail, we made them all the same lengths in the image. They aren’t the same length. The one at left is 168cm long in total. So yeah.
Anyhow, the first book comes out hopefully spring 2016! Look for Dark Soldier on shelves. Eventually.
Official pic of the swords for my series comes tomorrow!!! I won’t say who wields what or its canon size, but they’ll all be there. And they’re pretty darn gorgeous.
